All notable user-facing changes to MXBMRP3 are documented here.

The format follows Keep a Changelog.

Versioning. MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, plus a fourth component stamped at build time from the git commit count - so the DLL reports 1.28.0.1234 while the release is tagged v1.28.0. Not semantic versioning: MINOR carries features and PATCH everything else. Tags before v1.27.3 carry all four components, and some PATCH numbers never shipped, so gaps in this list are expected.

A released section IS the GitHub Release body for that version, published from this file word for word, so it is never edited afterwards - only [Unreleased] is. Entries up to and including v1.27.7 came the other way, compiled from the GitHub Releases that predate this file; their wording is preserved too.

Timing can now compare to the full lap the whole way round, and the spotter speaks again on Linux (Proton).

[1.34.1] - 2026-10-31

Compare your laps to the server best, see what Spotify is playing, find any setting by typing its name, and get a HUD that is cheaper to draw. It is the first stable 1.34, so the 1.34.0 changes below come with it.

Added

• Find box in the settings title: type a HUD or widget, a setting’s name, or a word from its description to list every match with where it lives and its current value. Click one to open it.
• Server best reference for the Gap Bar, Delta Trace, Lap Log, Timing and the Map’s lap delta (and General’s default): your gap to the fastest lap anyone has set this session, traced from where that rider was on track. A fastest lap that could not be traced, such as one set before you joined, leaves it empty until someone beats it.
• Standings, the Position widget and the Dash’s Standings page can move riders as they pass, between the game’s own updates at the splits (Settings > Standings > Live updates: Both). A pass shows once it has held half a second. Off by default, races only; the Live gaps switch is now this list, and Gaps keeps the live gaps alone.
• Click to spectate on the Gap Bar’s rider markers and on the Dash’s Flat map and Standings pages, as on the Map and Standings: left click a rider while spectating or in a replay to watch them.
• Standings Show mode (Settings > Standings), as on the Pitboard: Always (the default), At laps or At splits. At laps shows it after the line and At splits after each split and the line, for the time set by the new Freeze.
• Messages: a card names the folder the Benchmark profiler saved its report to when it is switched off, and warns when the stats file cannot be written or read, or the web overlay cannot open its port.

Changed

• The HUD costs the game less to draw, about 7% more FPS in our test (Forest Raceway, map with lap delta, Telemetry on): the map and every graph draw each straight stretch as one piece instead of dozens, nothing invisible is handed to the game, and it no longer allocates memory on every frame.
• Settings > General > PB reference is now Gap reference, as it can pick a lap that is not yours.
• Timing’s Overall row and the Pitboard’s Overall gap are now called Server best, as in the gap references.
• Records moves up beside the Gap Bar in Settings and the Toggles strip, and Delta Trace now opens from More.
• On fresh installs, and after Reset on the Helmet tab, the Impact vignette (Settings > Helmet > Impact) starts at 50%.
• Updates: the update channel (Settings > Updates > Update channel) is shown to everyone, so any player can opt into pre-releases. Stable stays the default.
• Benchmark profiler (Settings > Performance, under More) is shown to everyone. Its report covers the whole run, lists the longest frames with the plugin’s time in each, notes the PC it ran on, and is saved on leaving the track and on quitting as well as when switched off.

Fixed

• The Impact vignette covers the whole of an ultrawide screen.
• The Goggles and Visor tint (Settings > Helmet) covers the whole of an ultrawide screen.
• A stats file that cannot be read at startup is copied aside as mxbmrp3_stats_unreadable_<date>.json before anything replaces it. Until now the next save overwrote it, along with the personal bests in it.

[1.34.0] - 2026-10-25

Now Playing shows what Spotify or another player in Windows’ media controls is playing, with its controls, and the Toggles strip turns to fit any screen edge.

• Toggles strip turns to fit the edge it is dragged to: a column on the left or right edge, a row along the top or bottom.
• Now Playing (Settings > General > Now playing): what Windows’ media controls are playing, such as Spotify or a browser tab, on a new Now Playing widget and Dash page, with previous, play/pause, next and the player’s volume. A new track can show as a notice (Settings > Notices). nowPlayingApps under [General] in the settings file limits it to the players named there, such as spotify. Off by default

1.33.0 - 2026-10-24

A new look out of the box: a Dash card that steps through timing, gaps and more, a Toggles strip, glow and shadows, and steady digits.

Added

• Dash (Settings > Dash): one compact card that steps through fourteen pages, such as Timing, Fuel, Gap Bar and Event Log, with the new Dash + / Dash - hotkeys (Page Down / Page Up). A new notice takes it over until it clears. The Timing page also times custom segments. On by default
• Toggles widget (Settings > Widgets > Toggles): the settings button and every on/off switch in one strip in the top right corner, shown while the mouse moves. The arrow under the settings button folds the switches away and back. Resting the mouse on a switch that is off shows a dimmed preview of what it turns on. On by default
• Glow (Settings > Appearance > Glow): a soft halo behind the lights that call for action, such as the RPM lights, the red gear at the shift point and the warning notices. On by default
• Peaks on the Delta Trace (Settings > Delta Trace > Peaks): where your lap was furthest ahead and furthest behind

• The WRONG WAY and RIDER ONCOMING notices stay up for as long as they apply
• A personal best, fastest lap or setup notice no longer stays up for much of a lap when other notices keep interrupting it
• In a session with a time and added laps, the laps to go, FINAL LAP, CHECKERED and the Final lap event and callout no longer come a lap early when the leader crosses the line just as the time runs out
• Finish times are taken from each rider’s lap times, and the last rider to finish no longer gets a time of a few milliseconds or the session length

1.32.0 - 2026-10-10

A Delta Trace and Map colours that show where you gain and lose time, a Map you can tilt, HUDs that fade in, and a shorter settings menu.

Added

• Motion (Settings > Appearance > Motion): HUDs, notices and the settings menu fade and slide into place instead of popping in, and the gear and the speedo’s odometer and trip roll to their new value. Subtle by default; Normal adds a small spring, and Off draws everything as before
• Delta Trace (Settings > Delta Trace): your gap to your session PB, all-time PB or last lap drawn across the whole lap, green where you gained and red where you lost
• Lap delta on the Map (Settings > Map > Lap delta): the track turns green where you are gaining on the chosen lap and red where you are losing, fading with how fast, with the previous lap still shown ahead of you
• A Gap on the Timing panel (Settings > Timing > Gap): your live gap to your session PB, all-time PB or last lap, large under the time in green or red, exactly as the Gap Bar shows it but without the bar

• An RPM widget (Settings > Widgets > RPM): shift lights under Gear and Speed that turn green, amber, then red from your bike’s shift point, the red ones flashing on the limiter
• UI scale (Settings > Appearance > UI scale, 50 to 150%): sizes every HUD and the settings menu at once; each HUD’s own Scale is relative to it
• Reference and Freeze defaults on the General tab: the Gap Bar, Lap Log, Delta Trace, Timing and the Map’s Lap delta follow them when set to Default
• Companion bg (Settings > Appearance > Companion bg): Green, Blue or Magenta lets you key the companion window over your game in OBS with a Chroma Key filter. Dark stays the default
• A hotkey for every HUD’s on/off switch (Settings > Hotkeys, Delta Trace included), listed in the same order as the menu

• Hiding a HUD with its hotkey shows a short card naming the key that brings it back, and the hide-all and Widgets hotkeys do the same; clicking the card opens that HUD’s settings
• Starting the game with every HUD switched off shows one card saying so, with the key that opens settings, once per game session. Settings > Appearance > Messages turns it off
• In every game, short cards also confirm a profile auto-switch, a config reload, a copied profile and a tab reset, and a failed settings save shows a warning card. Settings > Appearance > Messages turns these cards off
• Copy profile and each tab’s Reset ask “Confirm?” before acting
• After an update, the Version widget says “Updated to 1.32. Open settings to see what’s new”, with a button to the new settings. A fresh install gets a welcome naming the key under Esc; it stays until you dismiss it or open settings

• The Gear widget’s limiter circle takes your Negative colour (Settings > Appearance > Colors), like the gear at the shift point, instead of a fixed red. A gear_circle_1.tga you coloured yourself is now tinted by it too
• The settings menu is about a fifth shorter: short settings sit two to a row and each section has its own box
• Settings use standard controls everywhere: a slider for any number, a dropdown for any list of three or more, and input boxes for hotkeys and channel names. Icon, colour and font lists show the icon, swatch or font itself
• The Map’s zoom is a Mode (Overview or Follow) with a Range for Follow
• The settings menu lists the per-profile tabs most-used first, with Widgets at the top; the rest open from a More row, a page where each one can be turned on or off and opened, with Back to return
• The Appearance tab’s colours sit in two columns of five and its fonts two to a row; HUD display and Companion bg have their own Companion window section with a one-line OBS tip
• The Widgets tab lists each section’s widgets most-used first, and Clock moved to Misc
• Rumble effects are a full-width table of sliders, and split effects open with the same caret as the More row
• When the plugin’s fonts or icons are missing, it says “MXBMRP3 is not installed correctly” on screen instead of leaving blank panels, in the Version widget’s panel and place
• In Follow mode (Settings > Map > Mode) the Map is cut exactly at its edge and fades out over the last stretch inside it, riders and markers included

• A fresh install starts the Map (Settings > Map) in Follow mode with Rotate map, 30 degrees of Tilt and 150% Track width; an existing setup keeps its Mode, rotation and width. Lap delta starts on Default for everyone
• Crash reports from an access violation also carry the address it tried to touch, which tells a null pointer apart from a freed or corrupted one; see the privacy table in the README
• The Prestige badge (Settings > Widgets > Prestige) is off until you turn it on, and taking a prestige level marks it New. A badge you already earned stays as it is; the usage survey counts it only when it is on and earned

• The controller name on the General tab is no longer cut short
• The settings sidebar card keeps the same height on every tab with a theme
• Keymaster and Interior Decorator are no longer granted on a fresh install: only a hotkey you bind or a colour, font or theme you pick counts
• In Kart Racing Pro, the Bars widget’s R column and the Telemetry RPM line now follow the revs on karts without a rev limiter

Stream Chat for Twitch and YouTube, and a Gap Bar that races your all-time PB across sessions.

Added

• Stream Chat in game (Settings > Stream Chat): your Twitch and YouTube chat on screen together, with name colors, role icons and an optional platform icon. Read-only, no login needed. YouTube’s is unofficial, so it can stop working at any time
• Split ticks on the Gap Bar (on by default, Settings > Gap Bar > Splits): a short mark at the top and bottom edge where each of the track’s splits is
• A Gap reference setting on the Gap Bar and Lap Log tabs (the Lap Log’s for its gap row): each measures against Session PB (the default), All-time PB or Last lap. The all-time lap is saved beside your stats and is there from the first flying lap of the next session; a PB set before this version has no saved lap until you beat it. A lap that did not count is never the reference, nor a saved lap that is not your PB
• A Gap freeze on the Lap Log tab, like the Gap Bar’s Freeze: after each split and the line, the gap row holds the official gap against its Gap reference for 5 seconds (Off to 10 s)
• A Freeze on the Pitboard tab: how long At Splits shows the board after each split and the line, 1 to 10 s. It stays at 10 seconds by default
• A Class column in the standings, off by default, showing each rider’s category (MX1, MX2 OEM…) before the bike. The web overlay has the same as a Class setting
• The gap bar’s marker Mode has an Off setting: just the bar and your gap

• Back Marker unlocks when you finish a race a lap down, not three
• Settings rows use their full width: the right arrow sits at the row’s edge, so values get two and a half times the room and long names (controllers, voices, voice packs, themes, profiles) are no longer cut short
• The Gap Bar’s Freeze defaults to 5 seconds (was 3), the same as the Timing panel’s and the Lap Log’s. A saved setting is kept; Reset picks up the new default
• The Gap Bar’s Freeze holds the gap against its Gap reference: on All-time PB or Last lap it showed the gap to the session PB until the freeze ran out. A cut or pit lap holds nothing at the line: the next lap starts over
• A lap through the pits is no longer announced: no spotter call, no INVALID on the Timing panel. The Lap Log says why a lap has no time, PIT or INVALID on that lap’s row in muted text, beside the splits the game counted. Its live row says PIT from the moment you ride into the pits, instead of stopping on the clock until the line. The Timing panel’s INVALID uses the same text font. A cut lap still gets every notice
• A missing time is a plain “-“ everywhere: the Lap Log, Standings, Timing, Ideal Lap, Records and the web overlay no longer show -:–.—
• Steady Hands counts riding since your last crash, across sessions and restarts; clearing your stats or a prestige starts it over
• The Gap Bar and the Lap Log’s gap row measure the live gap to PB on the Timing panel’s clock: a standing start’s opening lap is never the reference, and the gap goes blank the moment you ride into the pits, like the Timing panel, until the next line
• Skill Issue and 99 Problems count different things: crashes in total, and the resettable crash counter reaching 99
• Saving never stalls the game: stats, PB laps, settings and the log are written to disk in the background. Stats and PB laps are saved together when you leave the track and when you quit, never while riding

• The pit board, gauge, radar and gear-limiter textures are sized to what they draw at, so they load faster
• The log file is a fraction of its old size and no longer names your Windows account, so it is safe to share
• Numbers use your Digits font everywhere: the Standings position, race number (classic layout), +/- and penalty columns, the Records date, the Friends clock and the ECU widget’s values. Stream Chat author names use the Normal font, like rider names elsewhere. The Timing panel’s Server and Track rows use the Normal font
• The Fuel widget’s row labels are drawn small, like the other widgets’ labels
• The Event Log’s session start spells out the laps in a time-plus-laps race too (“8:00 + 2 laps”)
• Settings: the Rumble tab’s column labels sit on the Effects heading, like the Hotkeys and Widgets tabs, and row labels on the Rumble, Widgets and Stats tabs use the same colour as every other tab
• Colours are used the same way across HUDs: placeholders are muted (including the big “-“ in the Speed, Gear, Lap and Position widgets), an exact zero delta is white, Records positions 4 and below are grey, Map split markers are grey, and the Gap Bar’s Uniform markers are white like the Map and Radar. Errors such as “Steam not available” are red. Flag icons always keep their real colours
• The Friends and Rumble panels say why they are empty the way the Gamepad and Stream Chat panels do: a red line and a hint, at the panel’s normal size. Friends keeps showing “Steam integration off” while its settings tab is open, and Rumble says “Rumble off” or that the controller is not connected instead of drawing flat lines. With no controller selected, the Gamepad widget says so rather than “Controller 0”
• Records reads like Standings: a “P” column with plain numbers, a “Name” header, “-“ for a missing sector or date, and sector times that follow Compact Times
• Wording is consistent: “All-time” everywhere, sentence-case labels and Stream Chat messages, “LEADER” on the pitboard, and matching names for the same setting on different tabs (“Display order”, “Gap reference”, “Rows to show”)
• Settings: Gap Bar, Radar, Stats, Lap Log and Friends group their rows into Layout and Content like the other tabs, greyed-out rows look the same on every tab, the Achievements rows line up with other tabs, and more buttons have tooltips

Fixed

• A recorded spotter voice previews in its own voice when you cycle to it in the settings, instead of the text-to-speech voice
• Seat Time milestones crossed while free riding toast within the minute rather than at the next lap or the session’s end
• Race achievements land at the flag when the game declares the race over, instead of after a rider who quit gets a finish time back in the menus
• One mistyped value in the settings INI no longer resets every setting after it in that section; only that value is skipped, and the log names it
• A save that fails (a locked or read-only file) is tried again the next time you leave the track, instead of only once something else changes
• The web overlay’s standings tower no longer shrinks to a few rows for a moment while the field spawns onto the track
• The web overlay’s green “Connected” line fades after ten seconds and takes an earlier “Connection lost” with it; other error lines stay until an event pushes them out
• The About page’s Ko-fi link did nothing when clicked; it now opens the browser, like the two new thanks links beside it
• With Direct GL, no hitch the first time the Pitboard, the radar’s proximity sector or the gear limiter circle appears
• Timing’s Lap row no longer shows “5/2” in a time-plus-laps race
• Tyre temperatures follow the Celsius/Fahrenheit setting
• The Achievements toast theme is saved
• Resetting the Director tab no longer shows or hides its status button
• The General tab’s Reset buttons show their tooltips, and the Compact Times tooltip no longer says in-game gaps switch to tenths

1.30.3 - 2026-09-13

Prestige, 28 new achievements, a rebalanced catalogue, and a positioning preview for the HUDs that hide themselves.

Added

• 28 achievements on three new pages - Air, Completion and Misfortune - twelve of them unlisted until earned, and Perfect Race: the holeshot, every lap led, the fastest lap and the win in one race
• Prestige (Settings > Achievements): with every counted achievement at Platinum, trade the ladder back to zero for a prestige level and the Prestige widget. Personal bests are untouched, and it cannot be undone, so it asks twice
• Jump height on the FMX trick stats row, each measurement marked with its own icon
• Spotter cue holeshot_you, shipped commented out in the default pack
• A HUD that hides itself draws a PREVIEW while its own settings tab is open, so it can be positioned

• Achievements are MX Bikes only: the tab, the toasts and the badge are gone on GP Bikes and Kart Racing Pro
• Achievements rebalanced: top tiers lowered, the rows that counted button presses ask once, seven rows folded into others. No tier already earned is taken back
• Achievement rows reworded, every number against its unit (“150km”, “1h 30min”). Rows that say RIDE require the bike to be moving; trick rows require the trick to be landed
• Holeshot-ish, Wire to Wire and Perfect Race need at least one other rider on the grid
• Achievement pages reorganised: Conduct is Consistency, Progress is Variety, Moments is gone, the pages that do not count towards completion follow the ones that do, and the completion figure says what it counts (“47% (+3)”)
• The FMX HUD’s values, the Rumble HUD’s legend and the Records position column use the Digits font; the trick stats row rounds its metres to whole numbers
• The usage survey reports the prestige trade and the level it reached, and its achievement percentage now measures only the rows that count towards completion, the rest reported separately
• Holding a profile arrow in the settings sidebar no longer cycles profiles repeatedly
• Shipped asset packs no longer state a name the folder already derives

Fixed

• Two FMX tricks were near-impossible to register: the nose angle was sampled too late in the rotation, once the front wheel was back down
• The post-update donation nudge, and the achievement it feeds, never fired: the version the installer recorded never matched the one running
• Photo Finish measured a gap cached across the flag rather than the finishing margin
• Lapped the Field was vetoed by any rider who did not start or who retired
• Holeshot went to the first rider over split 1, which is not always the first split off the gate; it goes to whichever split comes first. The game does not report its holeshot marker, so the row is now called Holeshot-ish
• A race finish is recorded at the flag rather than on leaving the track, so its toast appears in the session it belongs to
• A restarted race counted for nothing, and the abandoned attempt’s start place and lead carried into it
• Charger measured from the wrong corner when you were not yet classified at the start
• Watching a replay of your own race credited it again
• The FMX HUD measured a jump from where it recognised the trick rather than from takeoff, so distance and time read short; scores come out slightly higher
• The FMX chain multiplier snapped back to 1.0 when a chain ended, instead of freezing and colouring with the Score and Chain values beside it - and, like the rotation arcs, the whole panel now holds while you are down, until you are back on the bike
• The hide-widgets hotkey left the Crashes tally on screen
• A hotkey capture left armed when the settings menu closed disabled every hotkey until the game was restarted
• A settings section’s hint drifted from, or overlapped, its heading under a non-default Strong font

Off by default, and it falls back to the old way by itself if it cannot run
• Turning Direct GL Rendering on now asks you to confirm it, with a countdown: if the HUD does not come out readable on your machine, wait it out or press the red button and it puts itself back. The countdown only runs while the HUD is actually on screen, so it will not time out on you in a menu
